BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – About a week and a half out from its 2017 season opener, Tennessee Tech volleyball has been predicted to finish 10th in the Ohio Valley Conference standings, as released by the OVC office Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles received 63 points based off votes from the conference's head volleyball coaches and sports information directors. Programs were awarded 11 points for a first-place vote, 10 points for a second-place vote, etc. School representatives were not allowed to include their own schools in their rankings.
The predicted 2017 order of finish is as follows for each of the 12 OVC volleyball programs:

2. Austin Peay (Six-first place votes) | 214 |
3. SIUE (Two first-place votes) | 199 |
4. Murray State (Six first-place votes) | 188 |
5. Eastern Kentucky | 165 |
6. Jacksonville State | 134 |
7. Morehead State | 117 |
8. Tennessee State | 97 |
9. Southeast Missouri | 70 |
10. TENNESSEE TECH | 63 |
11. Eastern Illinois | 60 |
12. UT Martin | 54 |
Tennessee Tech is set to hold its annual Purple v. Gold Scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 3 p.m. CT in the Hooper Eblen Center. The scrimmage is open to the public, and admission is free.
Tech will officially begin regular-season play on Aug. 25 at the Hampton Inn Holly Springs Invitational in Buies Creek, North Carolina.
