Volleyball coach featured on national website about his success with Golden Eagles

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech volleyball coach Dave Zelenock was featured recently on a national website (athleteAssessments.com), with an in-depth interview on how the third-year Golden Eagle coach has been successful in redirecting the fortunes of the Golden Eagle program.

After low finishes in the standings for two years, Zelenock reversed the team’s course culminating last year in reaching the Ohio Valley Conference tournament and posting a first-round win that advances his squad to the tourney semifinals.

The website article (which can be found here) delved into keys to the transformation, including a look at his coaching philosophy, leadership, adaptability and the team culture, and how he’s been family focused.

Zelenock enjoyed much success in his previous coaching roles, including assistant at Central Michigan where he helped post a 107-78 record and earned recognition on the 2010 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) list of Top Thirty Under 30.

Last year, his team won the AVCA Team Academic Award, and both of his Golden Eagle recruiting classes have been nationally ranked.

He welcomes his 2015 team back to campus in early August to begin training, with the regular season opener slated for August 28-29 at the Wright State Invitational in Dayton, Ohio.
