Golden Eagles head back to Nashville for non-conference match against Belmont

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's volleyball team will take a short break from non-conference tournaments as it heads to Belmont Tuesday, for a 6:30 p.m., match against the future member of the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Golden Eagles head into Tuesday still looking for their first win of the season. Last weekend the Golden Eagles went four sets with Lipscomb and nearly took a five-set match against UNC Charlotte.

Currently, sophomore outside hitter Natalie Penrod leads the Tech offense with 53 kills, while sophomore defensive specialist Allison May heads up the team in digs with 83.

Belmont enters the contest the owner of a 2-5 record, which includes wins over UT Chattanooga and OVC rival Murray State. Maggie Johnson leads the Bruins on offense with 109 kills, while Hannah Miranda has dished out a team-leading 235 assists.

The Golden Eagles are 10-2 all-time against the Bruins, including a 3-1 victory last season in Eblen Center.
