In 2008 (Sophomore): Following a breakout freshman year, Leah made her presence felt during her sophomore campaign as she received OVC Player of the Year and All-OVC First Team honors after ranking fifth in the conference in both points (264.5) and kills per set (3.48) during OVC matches...she twice earned OVC Offensive Player of the Week accolades and was named to the Lady Bearcat All-Tournament Team after totaling 33 kills, 30 digs, four blocks and two aces over three tournament matches...Tech Outstanding Female Athlete finalist...OVC All-Tournament Team selection after recording a pair of double-doubles against Austin Peay (12 kills, 12 digs) and Murray State (16 kills, 24 digs)...set a career high for hitting percentage of .423 (26-4-52) against Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 1...led the Golden Eagles in points (414), kills (359) and attempts (1,001) while ranking second in aces (22) and third in digs (287)...tallied 14 double-doubles throughout the season and finished with 10-or-more kills in 20 of 32 matches.

In 2007 (Freshman): Leah proved to be the most dominant freshman in the OVC, being named the OVC Freshman of the Year along with All-OVC second-team and all-newcomer honors...she was in the top three in the league in kills (548), kills per game (4.28) and total attacks (1,537)...in the match against Tennessee State on Nov. 2 she tallied 100 attempts to break the Tech and OVC record previously held by TTU Hall of Fame member Becky Murray Isom (97)...it places her 25th all-time in NCAA history for attempts in a match and only the second freshman ever to reach triple digit attempts...She tallied five kills in the 3-0 sweep of Murray State on Nov. 10 that clinched Tech a spot in the OVC Tournament...she was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week three times and twice named to an all-tournament team (Louisville and UT-Chattanooga).

Prep Highlights: A four-year starter at Assumption High School, Leah was named a 2003 Prep Volleyball Top Freshman during her rookie campaign and was named an honorable mention in the all-state team selection...as a senior, Meffert was part of a back-to-back-to-back state champion as her Assumption team finished 41-2 and was ranked second in the nation...led the team to 2004 and 2005 state titles and the 2005 national prep championship...also has strong club experience with the KIVA Volleyball Club for coach Dan Palmer, earning AAU All-America status in 2004 and 2005.
