FLORENCE, Ala. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team's season-opening exhibition tilt swung in favor of the purple and gold, as Tech scored twice in the second half on the way to a 2-1 victory at North Alabama Sunday afternoon.

The Lions pounced first behind a goal in the 20th minute, but the Golden Eagles were undeterred thanks to a pair net-finders after intermission to take the narrow nod. TTU provided the equalizer with an assisted score in the 59th minute, before the Golden Eagles seized the lead late with a 76th minute assisted goal.

UNA outshot Tech 11-8, but TTU prevailed in the second stanza behind a 6-5 discrepancy. The Golden Eagles produced four shots on-point.

Tech secured four stops between the pipes, saving a pair in each half. The Lions halted two tries as well, one in each period.

24 Golden Eagles saw action on the pitch, with all 24 playing at least 12 minutes apiece.

Tech will conclude its exhibition slate on Sunday, Aug. 14 in the club's lone exhibition clash in Cookeville. The Golden Eagles will welcome East Tennessee State to town for a 1 p.m. CT beginning at Tech Soccer Field. Admission is free of charge.
