COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team kicked off its two-match exhibition slate on the right foot behind a 2-0 win over North Alabama Sunday afternoon at Tech Soccer Field.

In lieu of a traditional two 45-minute halves, the clubs agreed upon three 30-minute periods, which saw the Golden Eagles strike for scores early in the first and third sessions. Tech collected a seventh-minute goal on an unassisted drive from 25 yards out to unwrap the scoring, before adding late to its lead with a 69th-minute net-finder.

19 Golden Eagles appeared in the match, combining for 17 shots. The Lions played 24 players and attempted eight shots.

Both squads put six shots on-goal. Three Tech goalkeepers combined for six saves, while a pair Lions teamed up to make four stops.

The Golden Eagles will conclude their brief exhibition schedule with a Thursday home affair against Middle Tennessee. First kick is slated to begin at 6 p.m. CT. Admission to Tech Soccer Field is free of charge.
