Tech soccer concludes exhibition schedule with 1-0 loss to Chattanooga

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team tied a ribbon on its exhibition slate with a 1-0 defeat to Chattanooga Sunday evening at Tech Soccer Field.

After a scoreless first 45 minutes of action, the Mocs opened the second half with a quick goal behind a penalty kick in the 48th minute to account for the tilt's lone score.

18 Golden Eagles appeared in the match. The purple and gold combined for five shots from five different players.

Chattanooga, who bested Belmont 1-0 in the club's other exhibition affair, collected 12 shots, five of which were on-goal.

With the exhibition schedule now behind them, Tech officially kicks off the regular season Friday, Aug. 23 against South Alabama in the first of two matches as part of the Trojan Classic hosted by Troy University. First kick with the Jaguars is slated for 4 p.m. CT. The Golden Eagles will lock up with the host Troy on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m.

TTU's first home match will take place on Sunday, Sept. 8 against Appalachian State after contests at Arizona State (Aug. 30), vs. Arizona (Sept. 1) and at North Alabama (Sept. 6).
