COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team closed out its two-match exhibition slate with a 2-2 draw against Chattanooga Sunday evening at Tech Soccer Field.

The contest went back to the traditional two, 45-minute halves after the Golden Eagles played in three, 30-minute periods against Vanderbilt in the club's first exhibition tilt on Aug. 5. Sunday's match did not feature overtime.

17 Golden Eagles appeared in the contest, combining for six shots, two of which were on-goal that both found the back of the net. Tech struck first with a penalty kick goal in the 19th minute, before padding its lead with a score in the 59th minute on a drive from just inside the top of the box.

Chattanooga, who played Belmont to a 1-1 deadlock in its other exhibition affair, rallied late to knot the match behind goals in the 72nd and 75th minutes. The equalizer came on a penalty kick. Overall, the Mocs took eight shots, five of which were on-goal.

With the exhibition schedule in the rearview mirror, the Golden Eagles will officially kick off the regular season on Friday, Aug. 17 at Georgia State, before locking up with Lipscomb on Aug. 19 to tie a bow on the squad's first road trip of the year. Tech's regular-season home opener is slated for Aug. 24 against ETSU.
