COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Daniel Brizard has resigned from his position
as head soccer coach at Tennessee Tech University following four
seasons with the program.
A national search will begin immediately to find Tech’s
next head coach, according to Director of Athletics Mark
Wilson.
“Daniel Brizard has been a loyal, valued member of our
department for the past four years and he is a respected
colleague,” Wilson said. “We wish him all the best in
his future pursuits and thank him for his dedicated service to
Tennessee Tech soccer and the TTU Athletics Department.
“His student-athletes always strove for success, both in the
classroom and on the field, and that is a reflection on
Daniel’s dedication to his program and his
players.”
An assistant coach at LSU for five seasons prior to his arrival at Tech, Brizard coached the Golden Eagles to a 17-52-4 overall record over his four seasons in Cookeville. The 2013 Golden Eagle squad posted an overall mark of 3-15-1, with 11 matches decided by one goal or less (the one tie).
Prior to his stint at LSU, Brizard spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Florida International, two seasons at South Alabama, and two seasons at Missouri-St. Louis, while also serving as coach of the girl's soccer team at Parkway West High School in St. Louis.
