COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech soccer coach Becky
Fletcher has added to her 2010 signing class with the addition of
Cookeville standout forward Jessica Wilson.
Wilson was named Cookeville High Offensive MVP, Team MVP and
earned district MVP honors as well in 2009, after scoring 28 goals
to go along with 10 assists, leading her team to a 14-3 record and
a district championship. She earned four letters in soccer at
Cookeville High for coach Sam Matson, finishing her career with 52
goals and 33 assists. Wilson plays club soccer for Blount United
for coach Tom Leonard.
"We are very excited about the addition of Jessica Wilson to the
Tennessee Tech family,” Fletcher said. “She is an
athletic forward who has a knack for the goal. She is a local
talent who has excelled on the field and in the classroom."
Wilson also competes on the Cookeville High School track and field
team, competing in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays, as well as discus
and triple jump. She plans to study business at Tech.
Wilson is the fifth player to sign with Tech’s 2010 signing
class, joining four other high school seniors who committed to Tech
earlier this month.
