A 2009 graduate of Tennessee Tech and former Golden Eagle golfer, Carla Hazelwood is now in her seventh season as the assistant golf coach for the Tech men's and women's teams.

Working closely with both squads, Hazelwood has helped Golden Eagle golfers achieve much over the past four seasons, including four All-OVC honors, two OVC All-Newcomer honors and four OVC All-Tournament nods. Tech golfers have earned 30 All-Tournament accolades since her return to Cookeville and each team has captured a tournament title as well.

Both the men's and women's teams have placed in the top five of the OVC Championship twice during Hazelwood's tenure.

Additionally, since her return to her alma mater, Tech's players and teams have broken numerous school records, including the women's all-time scoring mark for 54 holes, both as a team and for an individual. Also broken were the men's team 18-hole scoring record and 54-hole scoring record, among others.

Hazelwood began her career at Tech in 2005 and was named Most Dedicated Player by legendary TTU coach Bobby Nichols. A team captain in 2009, she finished her playing career with two All-Tournament honors (2006 North/South/Jacksonville Beach Golf Course and 2007 TSU Triangular/Greystone Golf Course).

Prior to her return to Tech, Hazelwood served as the graduate assistant coach at fellow OVC school, Austin Peay.
