PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Due to inclement weather, including rain, in the Pawley's Island, S.C. area, the third and final round of the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club was officially cancelled Wednesday afternoon.
The Tennessee Tech women's golf team officially finished 16th in the 19-team field, logging rounds of 313 and 304 for a total of 617. High Point took home the tournament crown with a three-stroke victory backed by a score of 574. Coastal Carolina's Hannah Karg claimed individual medalist honors behind rounds of 69 and 70 for 3-under 139.
Pacing the Golden Eagles was Chloe Griffith, delivering rounds of 78 and 75 for 153 and tie for 57th among the field of 104 golfers. Sitting one stroke back in a tie for 62nd was freshman Lexus Julian, whose 154 came along with rounds of 79 and 75.
A pair of the Cookeville crew tied for 68th at the end of the event, starting with sophomore Kaydi Rhodes and her score of 155. Senior Ainsley Simms also presented a 155 to tie for 68th.
Fifth-year senior Gittle Sciolis rounded out her week with a 160, tying for 89th. Competing as an individual, sophomore Sydney Branson rounded out Tech's participants with her own total of 160.
Next on the docket for the purple and gold is the Ohio Valley Conference Championships from Sunday, Apr. 14 through Tuesday, Apr. 16. The league's annual event will take place at Tunica National in Tunica, Miss.
