Golden Eagles women's golf team to host Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, tournament changed to 36 holes

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team returns to Sevierville, Tenn. to host the ninth annual Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at Sevierville Golf Club. Due to inclement weather, including heavy amounts of snow in Sevierville, the tournament has been changed to a 36-hole event.

BOBBY NICHOLS INTERCOLLEGIATE: Mar. 14-15, 2021 – 36 holes (18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-71, 5,803-yard Highlands Course at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn. Play will begin with a 12:00 p.m. ET shotgun start on Monday. Tuesday's final round will commence at 8:30 a.m. ET with another shotgun start.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: The Golden Eagles will field two teams in Sevierville. Competing for the purple team are senior Hannah Bratton, junior Elisabeth Toennessen, sophomore Ainsley Simms, senior Heidi Lawson, and freshman Reagan Stuke. Competing for the gold team are junior Katrine Toennessen, junior Gittle Sciolis, junior Makenzie Morton, senior Isabel York, and freshman Hailey Stegemann

THE COMPETITION: The 13-team field consists of two teams for host Tennessee Tech, as well as Bellarmine, Carson-Newman, Findlay, Indiana State, Lindsey Wilson College, Maryville College, Murray State, North Alabama, Northern Kentucky, Radford, and Tusculum. Tennessee State will feature only individuals competing.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH AMANDA SMITH: "This year will be special because we are able to set the event up like we have in the past. Teams always have a great time and can experience a fun area of Tennessee. Our ladies know this course very well so it will be nice playing on some home turf."
