Golden Eagles take flight to Florida for Sea Best Intercollegiate

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team will kick off the 2022 spring campaign in style, taking a flight south to Jacksonville, Fla. for the two-day Sea Best Intercollegiate at San Jose Country Club.

The Golden Eagles will compete Monday and Tuesday in their first action since the Terrier Intercollegiate back on Oct. 25-26. Live scoring for the event can be found at www.golfstat.com.

SEA BEST INTERCOLLEGIATE: Feb. 14-15, 2022 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 5,967-yard San Jose Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla. Play will kick off Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT. The third and final round will commence Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are senior Hannah Bratton, junior Elisabeth Toennessen, sophomore Ainsley Simms, senior Heidi Lawson, and junior Makenzie Morton.

THE COMPETITION: The 17-team field consists of host Jacksonville, as well as Butler, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Dixie State, East Carolina, FIU, Georgetown, Houston Baptist, Lipscomb, Navy, Seminole State, Tennessee Tech, Towson, UNCG, and USC Upstate.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH AMANDA SMITH: "It will be the first time flying for some of our ladies, so we are looking forward to it. They have found a way to put in some good work on their individual games even with the tough weather. This course will challenge us and help us to better prepare for the rest of the season."
