Tech women's golf concludes fall season 11th at Terrier Intercollegiate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team wrapped up the 2021-22 fall campaign Tuesday afternoon, putting the finishing touches on the third and final round of the Terrier Intercollegiate at the Carolina Country Club.

The Golden Eagles moved up a pair of places to finish 11^th out of 17 total teams, producing a round of 311 for a 925 overall. Eastern Kentucky and Lipscomb tied for the tournament championship, each turning in total scores of 873. EKU's Rylea Marcum earned individual medalist honors, finishing the event with a 209.

Leading the purple and gold for the week was Hannah Bratton, tying for 21^st in the field of 90 golfers with a 226. Posting one birdie on the day, the senior finalized her scorecard with an 80.

Ainsley Simms was the next to come up on the leaderboard for Tech, carding a 77 to finish in a tie for 36^th. The returning freshman tallied a trio of birdies on the final day of action, accumulating a 231 overall score.

Next up for the Golden Eagles was Katrine Toennessen, capturing a pair of birdies for a 78. The sophomore totaled 235 for the tournament, finishing 57^th overall. Her twin sister and fellow sophomore, Elisabeth Toennessen, followed right behind with a 237 for the three rounds, tying for 59^th after a team-best round of 76 for the day.

Rounding out the efforts for Tech in the fall season was Heidi Lawson, tying for 74^th. The junior captured three birdies during the day, concluding the third round with an 83 for a final score of 244.
