Tech women's golf team head to Clarksville for F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team continues the 2019-20 campaign Monday morning, kicking off action at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate at Clarksville Country Club. 

F&M BANK APSU INTERCOLLEGIATE: Sept. 30-Oct. 1, 2019 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 5,965-yard Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn. Tech will kick off action with a shotgun start Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. CT. Tuesday's action will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are sophomore Heidi Lawson, junior Hannah Bratton, junior Kate Mashburn, freshman Gittle Sciolis (pictured above), and freshman Katrine Toennessen. Competing as an individual is freshman Elisabeth Toennessen

THE COMPETITION: The nine-team field consists of host Austin Peay, as well as Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, IUPUI, North Alabama, Tennessee Tech, Valparaiso and Western Carolina.

THOUGHTS FROM ASSISTANT COACH SMITH: "We are excited to head over to Clarksville Country Club for the Austin Peay Invitational. The women are coming off a good finish from their efforts in Lexington and are ready for the challenges this new course provides. This tournament allows us to bring three of our freshman along too, so we are excited to see what they can do out there."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Two Golden Eagle freshmen will make their collegiate debuts on Monday; Gittle Sciolis and Elisabeth Toennessen. For Toennessen, she will become the second international golfer to ever play for the Golden Eagles. Her twin sister, Katrine Toennessen made her collegiate debut in Tech's season-opener at the MSU Greenbrier Invitational.
