2019-20 WOMEN'S GOLF FALL SCHEDULE

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Featuring two new events, and a total of five tournaments, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team and head coach Polk Brown revealed its 2019-20 fall schedule.
The Golden Eagles will make a first-time appearance at the MSU Greenbrier Invitational to kick off the season, a two-day event from Sept. 16-17. Competing at Greenbrier Country Club in an event hosted by Ohio Valley Conference foe Morehead State.
"The first event is a new one we haven't been to since I've been here. Morehead State is hosting a tournament at the Greenbrier Country Club in Lexington. We've always wanted the chance to go and play in their event, and now we are finally able to do it this year. It will be the second week of September, so we should have plenty of time to prepare for that."
On the docket next for the purple and gold is the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, hosted by in-state rival Austin Peay at Clarksville Country Club from Sept. 30 through Oct. 1. While Tech hasn't made a showing at the Gov's fall event since 2015, it does have seven appearances since 2009, including back-to-back third-place performances in 2014 and 2015.
"We follow it up with Austin Peay's event heading into October. We haven't played in that tournament in the past couple of years due to conflicting schedules, but we're happy to get back and play at Clarksville Country Club. Historically, our team has had quite a bit of success there."
With a new set of dates accompanying Tech's next trip, the Golden Eagles will return to the Chris Banister Golf Classic hosted by OVC foe Jacksonville State. Running from Oct. 7-8 at the RTJ Silver Lakes course, Tech will look to build on its fifth-place showing from last season.
"Jacksonville State moved its dates for its events into October, but we've still participated in that tournament for a long time and will keep it going this year. It's good prep to see a course that is similar to the one we play at the conference championships in April. James always does a great job with that course and it should be a good trip for the ladies."
Also new to the schedule is a trip north to the NCR North Course and the Dayton Flyer Invitational. Tech will compete in the event from Oct. 14-15.
"Moving on to fall break, we are heading to a new event up in Dayton, Ohio. We've never played in this tournament before, but from what I understand, it's always run very well and I'm looking forward to taking the team up for the first time."
The finale of the fall for the Golden Eagles is a return to Nashville and Tennessee State's Town and Country Invitational. The team will compete at McCabe Golf Course from Oct. 28-29. Last season, Tech finished as the runner-up in the event, just two shots back of eventual champion Austin Peay.
"We close things out at Tennessee State. Last year, our team did very well. We had several women perform spectacularly at that tournament, so it's a great way for us to close the semester and hopefully build some momentum as we head into the spring season.
"I think the women have a great schedule this upcoming fall. It will give them the opportunity to have quite a bit of success this semester."
