COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech women's golfer Hannah Bratton was recognized as an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Monday afternoon.

Bratton's recognition makes it five straight years that the Golden Eagle women's golf team has placed at least one student-athlete on the WGCA's All-American Scholar Team. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

"This is an outstanding achievement," Tech head coach Polk Brown said. "Hannah has done amazing work in the classroom and took some huge strides on the golf course throughout her sophomore campaign. We are very proud of her and this accomplishment speaks to her dedication both in the classroom and on the course."

The Golden Eagle sophomore was among a group of 25 from the Ohio Valley Conference included in the 1,097 players chosen throughout every NCAA Division as well as NAIA schools.

A native of Jackson, Tenn., Bratton concluded her sophomore season with a scoring average of 79.60 over 20 rounds of action and seven total events. She was named the team's Most Improved Player following the year by the Golden Eagle coaching staff. Working on her bachelor's degree in marketing, Bratton boasts a 3.90 GPA.
