Golden Eagle women's golf in action at EKU Colonel Classic starting Friday

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team returns to action with a familiar visit to Richmond, Ky. Friday morning, participating once again in the two-day, EKU Colonel Classic at the University Club at Arlington.

EKU COLONEL CLASSIC: Mar. 29-30, 2019 – 54 holes (36 Friday, 18 Saturday), located at the par-72, 5,885-yard University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Ky. Teams will kick off with a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start on Friday and an 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun start on Saturday.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Shelby Johnson, senior Lindsay Miller, freshman Heidi Lawson, sophomore Kate Mashburn and sophomore Isabel York. Competing as individuals are sophomore Hannah Bratton and junior Arianna Clemmer.

THE COMPETITION: The 13-team field consists of host Eastern Kentucky, as well as, Akron, Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Cleveland State, University of the Cumberlands, Dayton, IUPUI, Northern Illinois, Oakland, Ohio and Tennessee Tech. Kentucky will compete with individual only.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "We are looking forward to going back to Arlington as it is one of our favorite events to play each year. The women are ready to get back after it again since the BNI [Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate]. We hope to generate some good momentum as we enter the stretch run of the semester leading to conference."
