MONROE, La. – Due to inclement weather in the Monroe, La. area, the final round of the Fred Marx Invitational was canceled Tuesday afternoon. With the cancelation of the final 18 holes, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team captured a four-place finish at the event after climbing the leaderboard three spots in the second round on Monday.
Senior Lindsay Miller earned the team's top finish, tying for sixth with a 148 (80-68) while sophomore Kate Mashburn tied for eighth with a 149 (77-72).
Rounding out the Tech finishers were junior Shelby Johnson with a 152 (75-77), freshman Heidi Lawson with a 161 (83-78) and junior Arianna Clemmer with a 166 (82-84).
Tech will take a week away from its event schedule before returning to the links for the final tournament of the fall on Monday, Oct. 29. The Golden Eagles will stay local, taking part in the TSU Collegiate Invitational at McCabe Golf Course in Nashville.
