COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team returns to the links Sunday morning, kicking off the three-day Chris Banister Fall Classic hosted by Jacksonville State in Glencoe, Ala.

CHRIS BANISTER FALL CLASSIC: Sept. 23-25, 2018 – 54 holes (18 Sunday, 18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 6,058-yard Silver Lakes Golf Club in Glencoe, Ala. Tech will kick off action with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT on Sunday morning.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Shelby Johnson, freshman Heidi Lawson, sophomore Isabel York, senior Lindsay Miller, and junior Arianna Clemmer. Competing as an individual is sophomore Hannah Bratton.

THE COMPETITION: The seven-team field consists of host Jacksonville State, as well as Alabama State, Austin Peay, Murray State, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and UTEP.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "We've been to this event quite a bit over the years, and are excited to be returning. The layout at Silver Lakes is challenging, but there are still plenty of opportunites to score if you're smart. The women are raring to go and we're excited to get after our second tournament of the year."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Golden Eagles will take part in the Chris Banister Fall Classic for the fifth time under the direction of head coach Polk Brown, but the history goes even beyond that. Tech won the event back in 2000 under the direction of the late Bobby Nichols. Last season, the purple and gold tied for fourth place.
