Tech women's golf team at GolfWeek Program Championship for season-opening event

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team will officially begin the 2018-19 season Sunday morning, kicking off play at the GolfWeek Program Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

GOLFWEEK PROGRAM CHAMPIONSHIP: Sept. 9-11, 2018 – 54 holes (18 Sunday, 18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-71, 5,904-yard Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Tech will kick off action with tee times beginning at 7:15 a.m. CT on Sunday morning.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are senior Lindsay Miller, junior Shelby Johnson, sophomore Isabel York, junior Arianna Clemmer and sophomore Hannah Bratton.

THE COMPETITION: The 14-team field consists of Alabama State, Austin Peay, Bradley, Campbell, Delaware, Florida Gulf Coast, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville State, Old Dominion, Presbyterian, South Dakota, Stephen F. Austin, Tennessee Tech and Valparaiso.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "The women have really been getting after it since school started. We are excited to move on from qualifying and play in our first event of the year. Caledonia is a phenomenal golf course and an excellent way to open the fall. We are ready to go."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: York and Bratton will see the course in the first tournament of the year after combining for just 12 total rounds in their rookie campaign, mixing in with a trio of veteran golfers between Miller, Johnson and Clemmer.
