Tech women's golf team concludes OVC Championships in sixth place

OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team wrapped up play at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships Wednesday afternoon, completing its 2016-17 season with a sixth place showing in the league's annual tournament.

The Golden Eagles closed out play with a final-round score of 308, combining with total of 316 and 302 from days one and two for an overall total of 926. Murray State claimed the conference title by 10 strokes, defeating Eastern Kentucky with a score of 866.

Sophomore Hollee Sadler led the Golden Eagle scoring effort for the event, posting totals of 74, 74 and 79 for a 227 overall. She tied for 14th in the 45-player field.

Next among the Tech participants, senior Whitney Robertson tied for 18th place overall in her final career event. She carded a 77-73-81=231 for the three-day event. Junior Allyson Dunn led the Golden Eagles on Wednesday, firing a final-round effort of 1-over 73. She rounded out the tournament with a 233 to finish 21st overall.

Another senior, Lydia Triplett, also concluded her Golden Eagle career, tying for 32nd place. She totaled scores of 88, 81 and 75 for a final total of 244. Redshirt freshman Arianna Clemmer rounded out the Tech lineup, completing the event with final scores of 90, 74 and 83 for a 247 total.

Murray State's Moa Folke took home individual medalist honors, posting a 73-66-69=208.
