Golden Eagles tied for sixth through two rounds at the OVC Championships

OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team made a big improvement from day one to day two at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships Tuesday afternoon, shaving 14 strokes off its performance from the first round.

The Golden Eagles turned in a 302 on Tuesday at The Robert Trent Jones Trail at Hampton Cove, combining with a first-round 316 for a 618 total score. Tech moved into a tie for sixth place with in the field with Morehead State, sitting just five strokes back of fourth place Austin Peay. Murray State took control of the overall lead, holding a three-shot advantage over Eastern Kentucky.

Leading the way individually for Tech through two days of play was sophomore Hollee Sadler, who posted her second straight 2-over 74 for a 148 score overall. She finished the day tied for eighth place among the 45-golfer field.

Senior Whitney Robertson posted Tech's low round for the day, a one-over 73 that moved her two-day total to 150. She wrapped up play tied for 11th overall. Junior Allyson Dunn concluded play on Tuesday with a 77-83=160, ranking 30th.

Redshirt freshman Arianna Clemmer put together a fantastic second  round of 74 after a first-round 90, totaling a 164 overall to tie for 31st. Wrapping up the Golden Eagle lineup was senior Lydia Triplett, who cut seven shots from her first-round total of 88 for an 81 in round two and 169 composite score.

Eastern Kentucky's Elsa Moberly held the overall individual lead through two rounds, posting scores of 68 and 70 for a 138 total.

The Golden Eagles will conclude play on Wednesday morning beginning with an 8 a.m. CT start.
