Golden Eagles complete round two of Kiawah Island Classic, look to take flight championship Tuesday

KIAWAH ISLAND S.C. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed round two of the Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Classic Monday afternoon, finishing the day with a composite score of 316.

Following the day's results the Golden Eagles ranked tied for 27th overall among the 43 participating teams. Tech will compete for the flight championship of the event at the Oak Point Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Allyson Dunn paced the Tech squad on Monday, firing an even-par 72 to shoot up the individual rankings to a tie for 58th among the more than 230 golfers. Dunn posted three birdies on the back nine, leading to the fantastic day.

Senior veteran Whitney Robertson shaved three strokes off her first-round score, carding a second-round 78 to climb to a tie for 124th. Redshirt freshman Arianna Clemmer finished next among the Tech participants, completing day two with an 80 and in a tie for 69th.

Sophomore Hollee Sadler and senior Lydia Triplett rounded out the Golden Eagles in participation in Kiawah, posting scores of 86 and 89, respectively.

The Golden Eagles will wrap up their first spring event beginning with a 7:45 a.m. CT shotgun start on the Osprey Point Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
