Tech women's golf team finishes seventh at Golden Eagle Jam

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team concluded play at the Golden Eagle Jam at Hattiesburg Country Club Tuesday afternoon, tallying a third and final round score of 318 to finish seventh overall in the field of nine.

Host Southern Miss claimed the team title, firing scores of 293, 298 and 289 for an 880 overall on the team's home course. As for Tech, the Golden Eagles wrapped up its fourth event of the season at 934 overall, backed by rounds of 309, 307 and 318.

Individually, Central Arkansas' Emma Svensson took home medalist honors after a 67-71-73=211. Sophomore Hollee Sadler led the Golden Eagles for the second straight event, finishing in a tie for 19th overall among the 55 participants. The youngster posted scores of 77, 72 and 81 for a 230 in the team's second to last event of the fall.

Senior Lydia Triplett and junior Allyson Dunn ranked next on the leaderboard for Tech, tying for 27th overall with totals of 234. Triplett sandwiched an 80 between rounds of 78 and 76 while Dunn stayed consistent with scores of 77, 78 and 79.

Next among Tech's starting five was Whitney Robertson, who carded a 238. The senior collected a final-round 82 to go along with first and second round scores of 77 and 79. Rounding out the Golden Eagle lineup was sophomore Lindsay Miller, who concluded play with an 81-78-86=245.

Competing as an individual, redshirt freshman Arianna Clemmer posted a third-round 82, adding to scores of 81 and 80 to finish with a 243 in her second career event.

The Golden Eagles put a cap on fall play next week as the team heads west for Germantown, Tenn. and the Memphis Intercollegiate from Oct. 17-18.
