BRASELTON, Ga. – The history books have officially been rewritten as the Tennessee Tech women's golf team shattered the previous program mark for 54-hole score Tuesday afternoon after wrapping up play at the Fall Invitational at the Chateau Elan Resort.

Having already broken the school record for single round score with a 290 in the first round on Monday, the Golden Eagles took it to a whole different level after firing off a third-round total of 304. The final score left the team with a final tournament scorecard of 290-294-304=888, finishing a whopping 18 strokes lower than the record of 906 set by last year's team at the Blue Raider Invitational.

The Tech squad finished in eighth place in the 13-team field while in-state rival Chattanooga held on for a one-stroke victory over Ole Miss with a final score of 852. Chattanooga's Emily McLennan took home individual medalist honors after posting 68-68-69=205.

The leader of Tech's historic run, Whitney Robertson, made some history of her own by tying the program's 54-hole individual scoring mark with a 218. After carding rounds of 71 and 71 on Monday, the junior added a 76 on Tuesday to tie the lowest score in team history set by teammate Megan Williamson at the Blue Raider Invitational last season. She tied for 20th in the field of 67.

Finishing right behind her teammate, Maddi Everts collected the second lowest score of her career, finishing with a 71-73-76=220 and in a tie for 24th overall. The score also represented a tie for the fourth lowest mark in program history.

Also posting one of the top-10 lowest scores in school history was true freshman Hollee Sadler. The rookie played consistently all tournament, notching scores of 74, 75 and 75 for a 224 overall, the lowest of her career and the lowest score by a Tech freshman ever. She finished in a tie for 35th overall.

Sophomore Allyson Dunn tied her career-low 54-hole score in Braselton, tying for 40th after rounding out the event with a 226. She fired off rounds of 74, 75 and 77 to match the personal best she set back in the first tournament of the year, the GolfWeek Program Challenge.

Rounding out Tech's participants at the Fall Invitational was senior Megan Williamson. She completed the final day with a 79, combining with her first two rounds of 82 and 77 for a 238 overall.

The Golden Eagles will follow up their historic performance with a two-day trip to Clarksville, Tenn. next week for the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate beginning Monday, Oct. 12.
