MURRAY, Ky. – Fifty-four holes just wasn't enough to decide a medalist at the Murray State Invitational Saturday afternoon, as Tennessee Tech women's golfer Whitney Robertson finished the first three rounds of the tournament in a tie for first place with Cincinnati's Valentina Herrera.

With each golfer knotted at 224, a playoff stared both competitors in the face with each hunting for medalist honors. Herrera edged out Robertson on the first playoff hole to capture the title, but the Tech sophomore still managed the highest finish of her career.

After carding scores of 74 in both the first and second rounds, the Clarksville native notched a 76 over the final 18 holes, finishing eight over for the tournament and collecting her second consecutive All-Tournament honors. It also marked her fifth career top five finish and the fourth of the season.

Also collecting her second consecutive All-Tournament accolades was Megan Williamson. The junior finished out the tournament in a tie for fifth place, finishing the event with a final scorecard of 76-74-78=228. For the third time this season, Williamson tallied a top five finish, rounding the event at 12-over par.

The Golden Eagles finished the event in eighth place, carding a third-round total of 325 to finish with a 955 overall for the two-day tournament. Cincinnati captured the tournament title, winning by 11 strokes over Morehead State.

Sophomore Haley Davidson turned in the second-best 54-hole score of her career Saturday, rounding out a 254 with a third-round score of 85. The great performance during the weekend was highlighted by a personal-best 81 in round two during Friday's action.

Local Cookeville native Anna Cunningham and sophomore Lydia Triplett each finished the tournament with three-round totals of 257, rounding out the scoring for the Golden Eagles in Murray.

The Golden Eagles will now set their sights on the Ohio Valley Conference Championships, which will feature three, 18-hole rounds from Monday, Apr. 20 to Wednesday, Apr. 22.
