Title IX book signing and presentation at tonight's Tech-Samford contest

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As part of the NCAA's and Tennessee Tech's celebration of the 50th anniversary of Title IX, there will be a special presentation at tonight's game between the Golden Eagle women's basketball team and visiting Samford.

Belmont assistant professor Dr. Mary Ellen Pethel will be on-hand to sell and sign copies of her new book: Title IX, Pat Summitt, and Tennessee's Trailblazers: 50 Years, 50 Stories. The book features tales of legendary coaches and players shaping the history of women's sports and also features Tennessee Tech's Marynell Meadors and M. Dianne Murphy, Bill Worrell and Peggy Jolly.

A presentation will be made honoring Worrell and Murphy during the first quarter of tonight's game.

The book signing open to the public will be held at halftime in the Hooper Eblen Center lobby.
