Getting to know: Anna Walker

Getting to know: Anna Walker

Every student-athlete has a story, details about themselves and their background that extend beyond just the playing field and athletics.

Throughout the summer, we will take a look at the members of the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team and get to know more about them, the student-athletes who are representing not just their home communities, but also the University, Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland as they don the purple and gold. We asked the team to provide 10 facts about themselves that they want you, the fans, to know about them.

Today's subject is junior Anna Walker. A transfer from Chattanooga, Walker made her presence felt in the Ohio Valley Conference as she was named to the league's All-Newcomer team last season. She finished the season averaging 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds, giving Tech a powerful presence under the basket.

Here's 10 things Walker wants you to know about her:

  1. My favorite food is definitely hibachi. I love going to Fuji here in Cookeville with my friends.
  2. I am a huge Morgan Wallen fan. I could literally name every single song he sings.
  3. I have a golden doodle named Sadie.
  4. My family loves to go on vacations every year. My favorite place I've been to so far is Turks and Caicos.
  5. I have four other siblings and I'm the oldest of the five.
  6. Coach Rosamond actually recruited me three separate times. Third times the charm, am I right?
  7. My favorite TV show at the moment is Grey's Anatomy. This show makes me want to change my major to become a surgeon.
  8. I always enjoy cooking, especially when it's something I've never made before.
  9. I won a state championship my junior year at Bradley Central in 2019. This was the first time BCHS had brought home the gold ball since 1976.
  10. My uncle Brad played basketball here at TTU from 2000 to 2003.
