Tech women's basketball game vs. Samford cancelled

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Due to Samford entering COVID protocols, Tuesday's scheduled game between the Tennessee Tech women and the visiting Bulldogs has been canceled.

Attempts were made to find a replacement opponent for Tuesday afternoon, but no games were available at the time.

"We are disappointed we will not be able to play one last home game against a quality nonconference opponent in Samford," said Tech women's basketball head coach Kim Rosamond. "I know both teams were looking forward to this game, and there is tremendous respect between our two programs. We certainly understand the challenging circumstances we all continue to navigate and deal with surrounding COVID, and we wish Samford and their team all the best as they move forward in their season."

The cancellation marks a year to the day for the last game canceled for the Tech women's team, a Dec. 21, 2020, deletion against Mercer. Tech also had games against Samford, UAB and Vanderbilt erased in the 2020-21 campaign.

The Golden Eagles will wrap up the pre-conference slate with a 5-5 record and begin their holiday break. Tech's next action will be Thursday, December 30, as the Golden Eagles travel to Nashville to take on Tennessee State at the Gentry Center.

The next home game for the Tech women will be Thursday, January 6, against Morehead State. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are on sale for all Tennessee Tech basketball games. Call (931) 372-3940, visit the Hooper Eblen Center ticket office or visit TTUsports.com to order.
