The Golden Eagles return home to host SIU Edwardsville

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team returns home to host OVC challenger SIU Edwardsville on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. CT.  This game will be the first game of a doubleheader with the men's squad.

Tech (4-11, 1-1) leads the all-time series 3-2. Last season the Golden Eagles took the game, 66-56 while shooting 51% from the field. 

SIUE (4-11, 1-2) enters the match-up on a two-game skid. Junior guard Tierny Austin who is averaging 13.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game leads the Cougars. Sophomore guard Coco Moore is adding 10.8 points a game, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. The Cougars rank second in the Ohio Valley Conference in blocks per game at 3.7, and fourth in steals at 8.2.

The Golden Eagles are looking to find their way as they are also on a two-game skid, most recently losing at Belmont, 62-53 this past Saturday. Junior guard Diamond Henderson is averaging 18.3 points and 2.3 rebounds a game, junior forward T'Keyah Williams is adding 9.4 points and a team-high 6.6 boards. Tech is currently ranked first in the OVC in both field-goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage.

The game will be shown on the OVC Digital Network, called by Dylan Vazzano and also available on the Golden Eagle Sports Network via 106.1 FM The Eagle, done by Roger Ealey.

Tech hosts White County and Cumberland County Night on Saturday, which offers one dollar tickets for residents of both counties. Fans simply need to take advantage of the discounted one-dollar admission at the ticket office when they get to the game.

Another large group being offered a special discount for Saturday's games is the youth basketball players and coaches in the area, including Vision and Upward, along with the Putnam County Youth Basketball league. All participating boys and girls and their team coaches can receive free admission to the doubleheader simply by wearing their team shirt. In addition, those youth basketball players can also purchase tickets for their entire family for only one dollar each. The discount tickets will be available at the Ticket Office in the Eblen Center at Saturday's game.
