COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Golden Eagles will host the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks Saturday at 7 p.m., in the Eblen Center. Tech, led by head coach Jim Davis, is 2-2 on the season after a tough loss in overtime to Middle Tennessee on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have exchanged wins and losses to start the season, but Davis' new system is starting to emerge.

Setting the Stage:
Tennessee Tech returns to the Eblen Center Saturday, for the sixth game of a seven-game homestand, when it welcomes the 0-4 Warhawks of the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a tough 65-59 overtime loss to in-state rival Middle Tennessee Tuesday, while the Warhawks enter into Saturday's game off a loss, after giving up a lead at half time to Lamar.
This will only be the second time in as many years the Golden Eagles and the Warhawks have come to battle. Last season, Tech won their first meeting on the road 68-64.
A Glance at the 2012-13 Golden Eagles
As a team, the Golden Eagles are currently shooting 43.9% from the floor and leading the Ohio Valley Conference in points per game with 72.5. Leading Tech's offense is sophomore Diamond Henderson. Henderson netted 16 points in the loss to Middle, but is averaging 21.0 points per game. Henderson was the only player to notch double-digit points, but the Golden Eagles have had as many as three players score double-figures in both of Tech's wins.
Joining Henderson, the adidas® OVC co-Player of the Week (11/20), is senior Jala Harris. Harris is averaging 8.5 points per game, but it is her composure and leadership in close games that makes her an asset to the Golden Eagle squad. Each of Tech's past three games have been decided by an average of 10 points, with Tech trailing at the half in two of those games. In the loss to Middle Tennessee, Harris came off the bench and sparked the Golden Eagle offense dishing out five assists, and giving Tech a lead of as much as seven in the final minutes of the game.
Adding to the 1-2 Henderson-Harris punch is Lashay Davis. Davis was voted the adidas® OVC Newcomer of the week (11/20) thanks to her efforts against Akron and Rice. Davis is a sure-thing from behind arc, and has lifted Tech in tight situations, averaging 7.0 points per game.
Anchoring the frontcourt is T'Keyah Williams. Leading the Golden Eagles with 8.2 rebounds per game. Williams had a double-double in the win against Rice with 20 points and 11 rebounds. The other post position rotates throughout the game, as Tech's depth continues to outscore opponents bench productivity 2-1.
A Look at the Warhawks
The Warhawks are led by Ashleigh Simmons, averaging 11.5 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game. She recorded a double-double at Nicholls State with 22 points and 12 rebounds, only the second person on their current roster to have recorded a double-double. Louisiana-Monroe is shooting 38.7% from the floor this season, and being outscored by opponents by a scoring margin of -20.5 points.
