The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team looks to get its
second straight win in Nashville when it takes on Belmont on
Saturday. The Golden Eagles are coming off a 72-55 win at Lipscomb
on Nov. 18.
Tech freshman Krystal Stirrup had her first career double-double,
with 12 points and 10 rebounds against the Lady Bison, and senior
Blair Bowens led the Golden Eagles with 15 points.
Tech comes into Belmont with a 1-1 record on the season. Belmont
is 1-0, earning a 69-60 win over Memphis in the season opener.
Last season, the Bruins beat Tech 69-65 in Cookeville. In 2005-06
the Golden Eagles edged the Bruins 56-55, in the teams first
meeting since meeting since the 1983-84 season. Tech owns the lead
in the all-time series, with an 18-9 advantage.
Saturday's game tips off at 7 p.m. in Belmont's Curb Event Center.
The Golden Eagles return to Cookeville on Nov. 25 to host Drake.
