COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech will be sending two of its track athletes to compete individually in separate meets this weekend in an attempt to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Junior Na'Asha Robinson will travel back to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to race in the Arkansas Qualifier's 400m dash on Friday, Feb. 16. Senior Micayla Rennick will head to the UCS Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to compete in the mile on Saturday, Feb. 17.
"We will be sending Na'Asha and Micayla to select meets in order to give them a final chance to qualify for the NCAA championships in March," said head coach Wayne Angel. "They will be asked to carry a heavy load at the OVC championships, and I think it is only fair that we extend to them every opportunity to be the very best that they can be."
Robinson currently ranks 14th in the country in the 400m dash with a time of 53.06, while Rennick is 81st in the mile with a time of 4:46.15.
