NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Tennessee Tech indoor track & field, ranked eighth in the USTFCCCA South Region, continues its strong season this weekend at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational.
The meet will last for two days, starting on Friday, Feb. 2 and ending on Saturday.
Just a week after earning its highest-ever USTFCCCA regional ranking at 11th in the South Region, Tech took it a step further on Monday and jumped up three spots to No. 8 – deservingly so, as the Golden Eagles are best in the Ohio Valley Conference in eight of the 17 indoor track & field events.
Micayla Rennick and Khemani Roberts were recognized for their efforts at the Fred Wilt Open last weekend, sweeping this week's awards of adidas® OVC Female Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
With just three weeks left until the OVC Indoor Championships, Tech will look to make more improvements and tune-ups at the Meyo Invitational in Notre Dame.
"We are heading to Meyo to evaluate how we stack up against the nation's best," said head coach Wayne Angel. "Our hard work and dedication is starting to pay off. I look forward to seeing some great performances by our kids this week."
A portion of Saturday's events will be broadcast on the ACC Digital Network Extra, streaming live from 2 to 4 p.m. CT. During that time frame, Tech will participate in the 3000m and 4x400m relay and could also qualify for the 60m hurdles, 60m dash and 400m dash final.
