Rennick named OVC adidas® Female Track Athlete of the Week on Feb. 22

COOKEVILLE, Tenn.—After another record-breaking performance this past week, Micayla Rennick claimed adidas® OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week on Feb. 22. 

Rennick claimed a fourth place finish in the 800-meter at the Alex Wilson Invitational. She recorded a school-record breaking time of 2:09.83, which is also the second fastest time recorded in the Ohio Valley Conference this season.

adidas® OVC Track & Field Athletes of the Week – February 22

 MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Jarred Pasley, Jr., St. Louis, Mo. – Southeast Missouri

Pasley took first in the 400-meters at the Redhawks Invite. He set a new facility records. When his time of 49.07 is converted to 47.83 for track size, it's the best mark in the OVC this year.

FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Micayla Rennick, Jr., Sacramento, Calif. – Tennessee Tech

Rennick finished fourth in the 800 meters at the Alex Wilson Invitational. Her time of 2:09.83 set a new school record and ranks second in the OVC this year.

MALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Chris Martin, Sr., Cape Girardeau, Mo. – Southeast Missouri

Martin took first in the triple jump at the Redhawks Invite last week. His leap of 51'03.50" is his second best jump of the season and set a new facility record.

Savannah Amato, So., Delaware, Ohio – Austin Peay

Amanto took first in the pole vault at the Ohio State Tune-Up. She recorded a mark of 12'08" which is her second best mark this year.
