NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech track and field team wrapped up competition at the Boston-Moon Relays on the campus of Tennessee State University on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Brooklyn Kimball led the way with a career-best run in the 400meter-race, taking third of 12 runners. The Memphis, Tenn., native ran a time of 58.91. Freshmen Priscah Jemeli and Kayla Turange competed in the 400 for the first time. Jemeli ran 1:01.7, while Turange finished in 1:03.41.
In the 100meter-race, junior Tiara Hymon finished fourth with a time of 13.04. She was followed by teammates sophomore Brittany McGee and junior Chelsea Mills. McGee finished in a time of 13.29, while Mills followed in a time of 13.33.
McGee also ran the 200m-race, finishing with a time of 27.19, while freshman Kayla Turange ran a time of 27.93.
In the mid-distance races, freshman Madison Stremler finished 7th in the 800m-run. Stremler ran a time of 2:20.30, while fellow freshman Kathie O'Neill finished in a time of 2:30.87. Junior Landry Loving followed with a time of 2:37.26.
In the 1,500-meter race, freshman Lera McNamara finished fourth with a time of 5:31.40.
Freshman Baylee Balgemann ran the 5,000-meter race, finishing in a time of 22:24.70.
In the field events, Freshman Bethany Parker took part in the shot put, and threw a mark of 28-07.75. Junior Atlanta Westbrook competed in the triple jump, leaping a mark of 36-00.75.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action at the APSU invitational on April 17 and 18.
