Elizabeth continues to practice during the off-season in hopes of improving her times for future track seasons. Her love and passion for the sport will propel her in reaching her goals and becoming an important part of the women's track team here at Tech.
AT TECH (In 2011-12): Elizabeth ran in two cross country meets in her first season at Tech...posted a season-best 5K time of 22:50 at the TTU Invitational... she competed in the 800m during the indoor track season for the Golden Eagles... at the East Tennessee State Invitational she ran the 800m in 2:40.60... finished the 800m with a time of 2:39.15 at the Southern Illinois University Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL: Elizabeth was a four-year letterman in track and field and soccer at Coffee County Central. She helped the Red Raiders qualify for the state meet in each of her four years and specialized in the 4x800m relay, the mile and the 4x400m relay. She set a personal record of 5:42 in the mile and a best time of 2:29 in the 800m. In soccer, she played midfield and defense and was named team captain in 2010.
PERSONAL: The daughter of John and Alisa Mitchell...born March 24, 1993...full name is Elizabeth LeeAnn Mitchell...plans to major in nursing.
