In her first season as a member of the Golden Eagle track team, Margarett showed she has what it takes to call herself a competitor. Margarett continues to work hard to improve her skills and become an important asset to the Golden Eagles throwing the shot put. She looks forward to making a similar impact in the javelin and hammer events.

AT TECH (In 2011-12): Margarett competed in the shot put throw during the outdoor season for the Golden Eagles... at the Tennessee State Invitational she threw for a distance of 30 feet 02.25 inches... with a distance of 31 feet 04.00 inches she threw a season-best record and also a career best record at the Vanderbilt Invitational... at the Austin Peay Invitational she had a distance of 28 feet 10.45 inches.

HIGH SCHOOL: Margarett comes to Tech from Franklin County High School in Huntland, Tennessee... she competed in the high jump and shot put throw throughout her tenure on her high school track squad... she placed in the top three in both the shot put and high jump competitions during her area’s invitational track events... she also qualified for the district competition... was the All Scholar Athlete having maintained a 4.0 GPA while participating in a varsity sport.

PERSONAL: The daughter of Dennis and Amy Holder... birthday is December 16, 1991... full name is Margarett Alice Holder... majoring in chemistry.
