COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech cross country and track & field teams have grown by four names, with three additions to the women’s rosters and one on the men’s team.
Joining the women’s team are Leah Bradley from McDonough, Ga., Emily Williams from Talbott, Tenn., and Yeshi Dohrmann of Tullahoma, Tenn. The newcomer on the men’s squad is Tyler Eads, a distance runner also from Tullahoma.
The daughter of Theron and Eden Bradley, Leah Bradley plans to major in sociology. She is a 2008 graduate of Ola High School and received the prestigious Donna de Varona award. She spent the past two seasons running on the track team at Georgia Southern University and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
She was a four-year letterwinner on the track team at Ola High School under coach Steven Bare, and added one in cross country under coach Chris Gardner. She received the school’s Sportsmanship Award and was named the team’s Most Outstanding Runner.
Yeshi Dohrmann is the daughter of Clark and Rachel Dohrmann and will major in engineering. She won six letters at Tullahoma High School, earning three each in cross country and track under coaches Jeff Lester and Clester Winningham. Twice an all-Mid State selection, she helped win the region championship.
Emily Williams is the daughter of Carl and Suzanne Williams and a recent graduate of Jefferson County High School where she competed on the soccer team in the fall and ran on the track & field team in the spring.
A member of the National Honor Society, she will major in engineering. She was ranked third in her class and posted a perfect 4.0 grade average throughout her high school career. She won the Best Distance Runner award in 2008 and was named the track team’s MVP in 2009.
Tyler Eads is the son of Ron and Julie Eads and plans to major in exercise science. He lettered in both cross country and track at Tullahoma High School for coaches David Benjamin, Chris Clemens, Lester and Winningham.
The team’s MVP, Eads was named all-Mid-State and voted district MVP on his way to qualifying for the TSSAA state track & field meet.
The Tech cross country teams begin their season Sept. 4 at the Sewanee Invitational.
