Tiffany Baker enters into her third season as assistant coach of the Golden Eagles. The former Chattanooga standout and East Tennessee State graduate assistant coach is coming off a successful first two seasons in the Tech purple and gold that saw her work primarily with the offense.  During the hot stretch to close out the 2014 season in which the Golden Eagles rolled off a 13-3 record in the club’s final 16 games, TTU’s offense generated nearly nine runs per game in those 13 victories. In the 2015 season, the Golden Eagles’ offense generated runs in five of the seven innings in their NCAA appearance over Chattanooga to keep the season rolling before falling to South Alabama.

A product of East Ridge (Tenn.) High School, Baker, 27, built quite an impressive resume during her four-year playing career at Chattanooga. At ETSU, the former slugger worked with the hitters and infielders, and tackled daily operations for the Buccaneers.

As a Lady Moc, she hit 50 career home runs, shattering both the Chattanooga and SoCon all-time marks, while also being a three-time NFCA All-South Region and first-team All-SoCon selection. Along with her success on the field, Baker posted a 3.73 grade point average in the classroom en route to being named to the 2011 Capital One/COSIDA Academic All-District IV first team. She was also a nominee for the 2011 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

The three-time SoCon All-Academic member played an integral role in helping Chattanooga reach its first-ever regional final appearance in 2011. She hit .455 (5-for-11) with a double, three home runs, three runs scored, and six RBI in four games played at the Tuscaloosa Regional.

Baker, who hit 18 of her 50 round-trippers in 2011, was tied for 13th among NCAA Division I players and she also ranked 13th in RBI per game (1.16). To go with her 50 career homers, she hit .325 (200-616) with 39 doubles and 163 RBI in 218 games (217 starts) for the Lady Mocs. In addition, she led Chattanooga to four SoCon regular season titles and three NCAA Regional appearances.

She was a two-sport standout in softball and volleyball at East Ridge High School, where she was named the 2006 Gatorade Player of the Year and graduated fourth in her class. A four-time all-district pick, she was named all-state for three seasons.

Baker graduated magna cum laude from Chattanooga with a degree in Health and Human Performance, Pedagogy. She obtained her master’s in sports management from ETSU.
