COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – In the Tennessee Tech softball team's final non-conference game of the season, the Golden Eagles couldn't get enough timely hits to keep pace with visiting Lipscomb, falling 5-1 on Wednesday.

Tech was held to three hits as Chloe Yeager (6-1) earned the victory, walking none and striking out one as she yielded one run.

The one run came off of Beth McCulley's bat as she hit her first home run of the season, driving the ball to right field.

Taylor Thomas and Kayla Hughes each had the other hits in the contest, with Hughes collecting a double.

Hughes (4-9) allowed five runs on eight hits as she walked six and struck out three.

Lipscomb (29-11) drove in two runs in the second, then one each in the fourth, fifth and sixth, including two on sacrifice flies.

Tech (14-25) returns to action on Saturday as it travels to Eastern Illinois for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
