BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech softball team may have only played in two games this weekend, but it's tough to ignore the day sophomore outfielder Raegan Sparks had in the doubleheader on Friday.
Her efforts took the majority of the first-place votes as the Ohio Valley Conference's softball contacts named Sparks the league's adidas® Player of the Week on Monday.
The Indianapolis native went 4-for-6 on Friday, scoring three runs and driving in six as she hit three home runs in her final four at-bats against the Racers. Sparks also compiled a 2.167 slugging percentage for the two games.
It's the second nod in consecutive weeks for Tech players as teammate Taylor Waldrop was named the league's adidas® Pitcher of the Week last Monday.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday as they host Lipscomb, then travel to Eastern Illinois and SIUE this weekend in conference play.
