Tech softball faces Lipscomb on Wednesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After four games at home this past weekend, the Tennessee Tech softball team hits the road once again – a quick one down the road in Nashville as the Golden Eagles visit Lipscomb for a single game on Wednesday, starting at 5 p.m.
 
The Lady Bisons enter the contest with a 24-9 record, 1-2 in the Atlantic Sun. As a team, Lipscomb is hitting .271, led by Caitlin Plocheck, who has a .351 batting average with team-highs in doubles (10), home runs (7) and total bases (71).
 
In the circle, Lipscomb has a solid arm in Mandy Jordan, who has a 1.17 earned run average to go along with her stout 16-4 record. With six shutouts and 17 complete games to her credit, Jordan has walked 24 batters and struck out 165, while opponents are hitting .191 against her.
 
McCarley Thomas (7-5, 2.78 ERA) and Chloe Yeager (1-0, 0.00 ERA) are also possible matchups for the Golden Eagles.
 
For Tech (9-19, 2-2 Ohio Valley Conference), Aalia Bivens is leading the team in batting average, coming in with a .327 mark. Hallie Davis (.265) leads the team in runs scored (17), home runs (6) and total bases (45). As a team, Tech is hitting .218 with 34 home runs and 84 RBI.
 
In the circle, Danielle Liberatore stands as the Golden Eagles' leading hurler, recording a 3-7 record with a 4.28 ERA. She has walked 42 and struck out 90, with batters hitting .286 against her.
 
Other options on Wednesday for the Golden Eagles include Leigh Ellen Thomas (4-9, 4.50 ERA), Taylor Waldrop (1-2, 5.25 ERA) and Kayla Hughes (1-1, 2.84 ERA).
