Tech softball heads to Jacksonville State for conference doubleheader

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech softball team resumes its Ohio Valley Conference schedule as it travels to Jacksonville State Wednesday, for a crucial doubleheader. 

The doubleheader against JSU was originally scheduled for March 30, but was pushed back to this Wednesday due to unplayable conditions.

Currently, the Jacksonville State Gamecocks own a 31-11 record and sit second in the OVC with a 16-3 conference record. Amanda Crow leads the team in several offensive categories including home runs and RBI with 13 and 42, respectively. The Gamecocks are led by Tiffany Harbin in circle as she has won 18 games, while striking out 181 batters.
 
Recently, Tech absorbed a sweep at Kentucky including a 4-3, 10-inning loss, to fall to 16-21 on the season. Callie Schmidt and Brittney Spalding lead the team with 21 runs batted in, while Melody Christian has scored a team-high 29 runs.
Jacksonville State leads the all-time series 18-17, which includes a 12-2 win from earlier this season.
