COOKEVILLE, Tenn. –The Tennessee Tech softball team begins a seven-game bluegrass swing Wednesday as it heads to Eastern Kentucky.
With a 6-11 Ohio Valley Conference record, the Golden Eagles
sit two wins behind EKU (8-11) for sixth place in the conference

against the Colonels, earning a 4-3 win in game one, while dropping
game two 3-2.

several offensive categories, which includes .298 team batting
average and 193 RBI. The Colonels have four players with at least
25 RBI on the season, including Raquel Howes, who ranks second in
the conference with 35.
The Golden Eagles offense has been led by a pair of sparkplugs
at the top of the order in Melody
Christian and Chanelle
Spalding, who lead the team in batting average and runs scored.
Christian has scored a team-high 26 runs, with a .343 batting
average, while Chanelle Spalding has batted .352 on the year, with
22 runs scored.
The opening pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
The Golden Eagles come back home Thursday, for a make up game
against the Western Kentucky Lady Toppers, at 5 p.m. Tech and WKU
were originally scheduled to play back on March 10, but got rained
out.
