COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After finishing 1-2 on its first Ohio Valley Conference road trip, the Tennessee Tech softball team will look to get back on track at home as it welcomes in the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky.
Tech (12-10, 3-3 OVC) will look to build upon the success it
has had against EKU over the years as it has built a 46-27 record
against the Colonels since 1993. Both teams last met in the 2009
season when the Golden Eagles won a pair of victories by the scores
of 13-1 and 4-3.
The Colonels own a 16-9 record and are 3-3 in OVC play
including a three-game sweep of the Austin Peay Lady Govs this past
weekend. EKU has thrived on the road as it has a perfect 7-0 record
in away games.
Both the Golden Eagles and the Colonels, along with Morehead
State, are tied for fifth place in the OVC standings with a 3-3
conference record. Jacksonville State and UT Martin sit atop the
standings with a 6-0 mark and are followed by the 3-0 Eastern
Illinois Panthers and the 4-2 Southeast Missouri Redhawks.
The opening pitch for the first game is slated for 3 p.m.,
