BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Sophomore Gilbert Boit has been named the adidas® OVC Male Runner of the Week for the third time of the 2017 season, as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference office Tuesday.
Boit placed 19th out of 282 runners at the Pre-National Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky, last Saturday, finishing in 23:29.6. His time marked a new 8k school record – breaking his own record of 23:59.70 set last year at the Greater Louisville Classic. Boit's time was also the fastest among all male OVC runners in 8k races run last weekend.
Boit has won OVC Runner of the Week five times in his Tech career.
He and the rest of the Tech men's team (as well as the women) are currently preparing for the OVC Championships, which will go off Saturday, Oct. 28 in Charleston, Illinois.
