LOUISVILLE – This coming Saturday, the Tennessee Tech men's cross country team will race in its biggest and most prestigious meet yet this season at the NCAA Division I adidas® Pre-Nationals Invitational.

The meet, which often serves as a preview for the NCAA Championships each year, will be held at the University of Louisville's E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park. The course will also host the Division I Cross Country Championships in mid-November.

The men's seeded 8k will go off at 9 a.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 14. It will be streamed live on FloTrack.

As of Oct. 2, Louisville will welcome over 50 men's teams to compete in the meet, including Georgetown, Ole Miss and Utah State, who are all ranked within the top 30 teams in the nation in the latest USTFCCCA release. Not included on the participating teams list are nationally ranked No. 2 BYU, No. 5 Arkansas and No. 8 Oregon, who were late entries.

"We're ready to compete in a meet with a very large field of Division I athletes," said head coach Wayne Angel. "It will be the greatest test that we have had this season as a team as well as individually for (Gilbert) Boit.

"I'm interested to see how well our men can improve from Indiana going into the OVC Championships, especially with the likes of Sammy Kipkirui, Hannes Vohn and Benard Sigei. I think that they have the ability to step up alongside Gilbert Boit and Brannon Cheplak as great supporting cast members."

Tech has not run since Sept. 30 at the Sam Bell Invitational at Indiana, where it finished seventh. Sophomore Boit continued his streak of three-straight wins this season which he'll look to continue this weekend.

"It will be fun to compete against the likes of Oregon, Arkansas, Brigham Young, Georgetown and Ole Miss to name a few," said Angel. "It will only make us tougher and better as teams. I am very excited to see the true potential of Boit and the men's team this weekend."
